We are a passionate group of community-minded people who have been brought together to bolster support for local charitable organizations.  Since 2008, AMPed for Life has undertaken fundraising and awareness efforts in honour of Alex Murray Pace (AMP), an 11 year old boy who inspired us to help children and families in need. To date, we have raised nearly $2.85 million and brought Alex's spirit to many.

Our Story

In February 2007, Alex was diagnosed with osteosarcoma. Immediately an army of family and friends surrounded our family with love, support and an incredible amount of goodwill. Food teams were put in place to provide daily meals; immediate family members moved in for weeks at a time to care for Maddie and Ben, Alex's siblings; and numerous gifts and cards were sent to Alex and the rest of us expressing hope, prayers and positive thoughts.  Everyone was trying to find the right way to reach out and help - it was overwhelming to see and feel such an outpouring of love and support.  We were very fortunate to have such an amazing community of friends and family and often reflected on it with a sense of extreme gratefulness.

Alex’s legacy will serve many more children and families who have endured the pain of loss and seek something greater in its wake.
